“Chlorine is a chemical with the ability to transform other chemicals into mimics of estrogen, the female hormone. ‘Those who drink chlorinated water are at a higher risk of developing breast cancer,’ reports British toxins expert Paula Baillie-Hamilton. ‘It seems that chlorine reacts with some of the substances in the water to form trihalomethanes, compounds linked to breast cancer. This cancer-inducing effect has been demonstrated in a study performed on women drinking chlorinated tap water in Louisiana.’”
